Unfamilar PC

I was without my laptop for almost a week and have been catching up by surfing the web for the past four hours. The screen on my MacBook Pro suddenly got these weird scratch like marks on it and it needed to be replaced. During that time, I used Tom’s laptop which absolutely drove me crazy. Now, it wasn’t because of the whole I’m a Mac user and just CAN’T stand using PC’s mentality because I frequently use PC’s when I’m in school. But it was the whole This computer runs so slow because a million liquids have been spilled on it and I’m not sure how it’s even functioning thing that bothered me about using it. It took me at least 3x longer to do my daily rounds online, which I had to cut down to email, school email, facebook, and bank account check. And come on, I do not have an extra 10 minutes in my day to be messing around with waiting for webpages to load.

But, I was grateful for even having a computer to use. When I first started using it, I asked Tom what his password was to logon and he told me I wouldn’t need it because you only need it if it restarts or is shut down. Okay, not a problem. Until I go to transfer some money from my bank account to pay for my hair cut, and surprise the computer restarted. Of course, he didn’t have his cell phone on him and I could not guess his password for the life of me. I was freaking out (because obviously my hair is freak out worthy) and wasn’t sure what to do. Then I thought of his Wii. Let me tell you, I was complaining about things taking me longer to do on his PC? It took even LONGER to do on the Wii. With no keyboard I had to point the mouse at each letter and login to a million accounts (okay not really) to get authorization codes because I was using a different computer and all of that fun stuff.

His response when I told him I had to use the Wii to get online? You could have used my XBox instead. Because yeah, that’s so much better.

Two months?

Has it really been two months since I last updated? I definitely got caught up with school and with moving. Tom and I finally moved in together, after being together for over four years. It isn’t too bad, but I think I’m getting the better end of the deal because I have time to myself when he’s working. It really isn’t anything what I expected though, he hasn’t done anything to drive me crazy that I didn’t know about before.

In more exciting news…we got a puppy! I’ve always wanted a dog and Tom promised me when we moved out we would get one. His name is Kratos, we’ve had him for about a month, he’s 4 months old, and a German Shepard / Bernese Mountain dog mix.

In kinda sad news, I wasn’t able to take J.D. (my cat) with me. I tried, but he just hated it here and was petrified of Kratos so we just have Tom’s two cats now.

Moving Forward

Things are actually progressing along with moving up to “the house” as I’ve been trying to call it lately instead of “my Grandparents house”. Mainly because once we officially move in, I don’t want to catch myself saying I need to go to my grandparents house, I want to say I’m going home. We’re moving in officially the end of April when I’m on a break between my classes and Tom will be on vacation. We went to the house Tuesday to do a little bit of cleaning, moved some things off the wall, and installed a new doorknob with a lock on it. We also have tentative plans to paint, as long as we can find something that isn’t too expensive. We also made an Ikea run on Sunday and picked up a basic table that we’ll both use for our laptops. But let’s be honest, I’m known to lay in bed on my laptop so who knows how much I’ll use a table.
