Well, I’ve seen this going around on facebook as well as the blog world. So I thought I would make my own list of 25 random things about me.
1. I got accepted into the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for Graphic Design, but decided pretty much at the last minute not to go. I thought it was too much money for what I would be able to do when I got done. Some days I regret not going, but overall I’m happy with my decision.
2. I love the winter and snow.
3. I have an associates degree as a legal secretary, but I never plan on using it.
4. The Princess Bride has been my favorite movie since I was about 8. I own 3 different copies of it on DVD and have seen it countless times.
5. But the movie I probably know the most lines from is Finding Nemo.
6. Tom and I met freshman year of highschool in Biology class where he helped me cheat on just about every test. He had really elaborate ways such as printing things out on the computer in super small print and then putting it inside of a pen, with a little window cut out and he just turned the pen around to see different answers. Kind of funny that I’m a Biology major now, sometimes I wish I still had him with me in class to help cheat. Not that I would cheat now, but you know.
7. I started really getting into webdesign because of a nun. I went to a Catholic school for grades Kindergarten through 8th grade, and in the 6th grade when I started making webpages (expage, baby) I told my computer teacher, who was a nun, about it and she seemed so interested and excited about it.
8. Speaking of websites…I was a “camgirl” years ago. I did make a little bit money from it, did fansigns for some companies, and managed to get my paypal account closed down for forever (which I fought just a few months ago and got it reopened). It was funny though because I never got naked or in my bra & undies, but somehow I manged to be at the top of a ton of portal sites. I did have a screenshot on my old computer of me in the number one spot with just jeans and a t-shirt on, and then there were seriously 4 girls in the places ranked below me completely naked.
9. Everclear has been my favorite band for about 13 years, but I’ve never seen them in concert.
10. Whenever Tom and I go on a vacation somewhere, I always try to collect a few teapots. When we went to Hocking Hills in the summer, I found this one teapot that was really awesome. I got home and a few days later my dad brought over some teapots from my Grandma’s house (she passed away a few months before) and one of them matched the one I got with Tom.
11. Whenever I see a cardinal, I believe it’s my Grandparents watching over me. I see one just about everyday I drive to school, no matter the season or weather.
12. I try to never kill bugs if I see them, even spiders and ants. I’m not scared of them, I just hate killing animals.
13. The Velveteen Rabbit is my favorite children’s book. I have 4 or 5 different copies of it. I’d love to get a tattoo of the bunny someday, but haven’t found an image I like enough yet.
14. I don’t talk to my one Uncle (my mom’s brother). I’m not sure if it’s because my mom absolutely hates him, or because he’s a bad person. I’m really not sure if I’ll ever know the answer to that.
15. I used to be incredibly mean to my dad when I was younger. I used to hit him, kick him, and yell at him all the time. A lot of the times I think it was because my mom and him always fought, so I thought that I had to hate him too. Now that I’m older, I feel really bad about it. My dad never really got upset with me for what I did to him, and he still supports me 110% in my life. He really has tried, and still does to give me everything I want. I don’t mean that in a spoiled way, but he really encourages me to do what I want in life. At the end of every semester in school he gets really excited and takes me out to eat wherever I want to go, he gives me money to help with school, has already paid for two colleges I went to, and is just awesome.
16. My mom hates my dad, but they’re still married. My mom sleeps in their bedroom in a huge king size bed while my dad sleeps on the couch. It’s been like that for as long as I could remember.
17. I have A LOT of MAC makeup. I started adding up how much I had once ($$ wise) and I stopped once I hit $2,500 because it was too depressing. That’s over the course of a few years though.
18. I can’t sleep without some sound, but not the TV. Tom’s mom got me a Sleep Sound Generator for Christmas, and I use it every night.
19. I never want kids. Unlike some people who say that, I really like kids! I worked in a daycare for two years and I absolutely loved it. A few reasons why I don’t want kids are because I’m selfish and want to travel, I don’t want a child like my brother (or prone to mental illnesses), and I don’t want them to be more prone to cancer like Tom’s family seems to be.
20. My family lives for a really long time. My grandpa was 92 when he died, my grandma was 90. The grandparents on my mom’s side also live for a while. I had a great-grandma until she died around 95, and my grandparents are in their late 70′s / early 80′s and still kicking. I also looked back at some family records on my dad’s side, and back in the late 1800′s early 1900′s, there were a few family members that lived to be in their 70′s and 80′s. That’s pretty amazing for back then!
21. I’m related to Barack Obama some how. This Time article, and a few other sources say that President Obama descended from my dad’s side of the family.
22. The number one place I want to visit is New Zealand.
23. I’m really scared of aliens. It’s pretty much the only thing that I’m scared of.
24. When I was younger, my aspirations in life were to be a “Dairy Queener” (work at the Dairy Queen) and to be in the circus. No doctor or lawyer dreams for me! Since my first job was working at the DQ, I’d say I’m doing pretty well for myself.
25. I’ve taken a ton of quizzes and tests, and I’m pretty much half and half in the whole Right Brain vs. Left Brain thinking. In high school when I took it in a class, the teacher thought I was cheating and made me retake it with her standing there. I got the same exact scores. I’ve taken a ton of different ones over the past few years, and it’s just about always perfectly even.
