Improvement

This past week was actually pretty good. First, I passed my Vertebrae Biology test with a decent score, it’s not as high as I would have liked, but I’m not complaining. I also am doing really well in my Stats class and somehow have the 2nd highest grade in my class. I’m really excited about that because I’ve been told from several people that they actually failed statistics in college. In other, non-school related news, I got tickets to see Louis C.K. again in April, which should be really fun, especially since we’re in the second row! Our seats last time we went to see him were in the first row, but to the left hand side, this time they’re more towards the center of the stage.

My Valentine’s day also went really well. Tom got me a book I’ve been wanting but said he wouldn’t buy for me because it’s silly (Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen’s book), money to buy MAC makeup, and he wrote a poem for me. All of his poetry is really, really amazing, but it all has a dark theme, which works for him but I’ve always wanted to read something that was happy and loving. Basically, I’ve been waiting for 6 years or so for a poem about our relationship that was positive, and I finally got it. I got something for him that I never do either, which is baking cupcakes. Not just any cupcakes, but everything-from-scratch red velvet with cream cheese frosting cupcakes, and they were actually good!

My new thing is looking at celebrity twitters. Right now I’m only following Ashton Kutcher’s and Elijah Wood’s. If anyone wants to add me on twitter, here is my profile. Also, what are your favorite twitter-ers?

Happy New Year (2009)

Wow, I can’t believe it’s already 2009, it feels like just a few days ago people were preparing for the Y2K scare, and now, it’s almost 10 years later and the world is still functioning. I hope everyone had an enjoyable New Years Eve / Day. Mine, wasn’t too horrible, but it was far from the best one I’ve had. I hope that wasn’t an omen to the New Year, but rather a final farewell to 2008. Tom got upset with me at exactly 30 seconds until the New Year. In his semi-drunken state, he decided to read me something he was working on (he’s an aspiring writer), with 3 minutes until the new year. I told him he wouldn’t have time to finish and to wait for a few minutes and then I would listen, which of course he didn’t do. So, when it got down to a minute till and his sister and I started getting things ready (the champagne, turning on the television, etcetera) he got really pissed off and went into the bathroom and refused to come out until 5 seconds before the ball dropped and proceeded to yell at me and made me cry. Oh yeah, and he threw his laptop down on the table, causing a shot to spill on my MacBook Pro. All three of us were dorks and decided to just sit around drinking with our laptops, well, we were drinking WITH each other, but you know what I mean. But I digress. Anyways, it was a big mess, I didn’t even get to see the ball drop, I didn’t get a kiss, and the champagne didn’t get popped.

Things got better though when we started hearing people shooting their guns off (he lives kind of across the way from a not-so-great area). He went downstairs and got his .357 and took it outside and shot it in the ground, it was SO loud. I’ve always been beyond scared of this gun because it’s so powerful. It was kind of exciting though hearing it go off, so then I took a shot with it into the ground. I was seriously so scared it was going to come back up and hit me or something, but obviously since I’m updating this, I’m fine. After that, the night got a lot better.

Tom had to work at 10 this morning, which really sucked because I’m used to us spending New Year’s Day together recovering from our hangover. I actually don’t feel too bad today, I just have a little headache. I came home though and slept for a few hours and just woke up a little bit ago. My family has had people over (okay, so the “people” are my family members, but whatever) for the past few holiday dinners. Which I guess is fine, but usually we only have people over for Thanksgiving or Christmas Eve. Not Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, the day after Christmas, and New Years Day. Needless to say, I’m a little sick of being around people so I’ve locked myself in the room and are hoping they leave soon because I need to get ready to go pick up Tom.

Christmas Update

I hope that everyone who celebrates Christmas had an awesome holiday and Santa got you everything on your list. My Christmas was alright, for some reason it just didn’t feel like Christmas though. More like just sitting around and opening presents that just so happened to be there. I don’t know if it was because of it not snowing at all, or what, but something just felt off the whole day.

I’ve had my Christmas presents from my parents for about two months now, so I didn’t have anything to open at home. My mom bought me a new pair of Gray Ugg’s (whatever, I know they’re ugly, but they keep my feet warm) and a Chi hair straightener. Tom got me a few charms for my Pandora charm bracelet (a snowflake, bunny, a glass bead, a snake, and the safety chain), two books (Icarus at the Edge of Time and an e.e. cummings poetry book), a laptop cooling pad, A Bugs Life, and seasons 1 – 3 of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I’ve yet to watch the DVD’s, maybe I can convince Tom to watch A Bugs Life tonight. He received a ton of Playstation 3 games (Mirror’s Edge, Fallout 3, Mario Kart, and Mortal Combat vs. DC Universe) so he’s pretty much been glued to his television for the past few days.
