I have a good excuse for not updating in the past month. I’ve been working on my last project ever for school. I finished it up last Monday and now I am proud to say I officially have my Bachelor’s degree in Biology!!! Now it’s time to move on and attempt to find a job somewhat related to my field. I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to find something, I think because I’m realistic. I know that 99% of the jobs I apply to I probably won’t even get a call back let alone the chance to interview. I also know that I may not be able to stay in my current [economically depressed] city, even though I really don’t want to leave my family. People keep asking me what I’m going to do with my degree and honestly, even as I’m looking at jobs I still don’t know. My goal is to just find a job, any job that mildly requires having a degree to get. Down the road, that’s when I’ll worry about what I want to do. I just really don’t believe in today’s economy I have the luxury of being able to turn down jobs just because it isn’t my dream job.
In other news, I’m a little sad about using the “college” tag for possibly the last time, as well as seeing everyone updating facebook about getting ready to go back to school. I need a new tag to use, Life After College, maybe?
I renewed my domain name and hosting for another year. It’s hard to believe I’ve had this name for two years already!
Last night I paid my bill for school, and by I paid I mean Tom had to press the submit payment button for me. It’s terrifying knowing in a few seconds almost 3k will be gone from my bank account. The only nice part about it is seeing that I owe $0 to my school.
I feel incredibly burned out, and it’s only the 4th week of classes. I don’t know what it is, I actually am enjoying the classes I’m taking this semester compared to others, but something just feels…off. Also, I’m going to attempt to get another internship this summer, I figure that since I don’t want to go to Grad school, I need all the experience I can get while I’m in school.
I took my one cat, Zoe Jane, to the vet today because she’s been having some problems with having bowel movements, and then today she threw up some yellow stuff, which I’m assuming was bile. The vet basically said nothing was wrong with her, and to just watch her. He then asked one of the vet assistants to shave some of the clumps of fur she had off of her since we couldn’t get it with a comb. When they were doing that, they saw that she had tapeworms, and called the vet back in. I seriously feel horrible right now, even though he said that they were pretty common (they come from fleas) and that they aren’t really dangerous to the animal. I hate it when there’s something wrong with my animals, just because I feel like I’m a bad pet owner, even though I know that can happen to anyone.
