Tag Archive: annoyances

I think I’m finally going to swallow my pride and go see a psychiatrist. I’ve been avoiding doing so for the past oh, 6 or 7 years. I really think that I have issues, and I’m not just saying that because everyone now a days has “issues”. I’m thinking that I have a form of Attention Deficit Disorder. I’ve taken a few quizzes online (thank god I have the Internet to diagnose me!! — just kidding of course) and from what I’ve read up on about it, I seem like a perfect fit for it. So what’s the big deal right? Just go see someone, talk to them, maybe get some medication, and learn to live / modify it as I get older. Well, my brother has bipolar and I see how he is, and I guess I don’t want to be associated with that. Now, before anyone jumps down my throat that has bipolar, I’m not saying anything negative against it. I guess what it’s like is, I’ve always been the “good kid” in my family. My brother was always the wild one with behavioral issues. You could say that my parents could find sanity in me when things with my brother were falling apart. I just don’t want to have that label that, sadly, my brother has dealt with. But as I get older, I realize that I’m really not so sane after all.

Sometimes, people really annoy me. For example, there’s this girl in one of my classes that everyday walks in at least 15 minutes late. You might suppose she had a class that always got out late, her last class was a long walk, etcetera. But oh no, everyday, along with walking in late, she always has her Starbucks with her. That is just so incredibly disrespectful, especially because it is such a small class. I don’t know if it’s the ohmigod I’m in college, so that means I can do whatever I want mentality or just pure ignorance, but it’s really distracting.

I’m so excited, one of my favorite comedians, Jim Gaffigan is coming to Cleveland in December. Tickets go on sale in a few weeks and I plan on ordering them the first day to hopefully get front row seats like we did for Louis C.K. He’s so funny because he does these little “voices” that are just, too funny. Incase you haven’t been introduced to the wonder that is Jim Gaffigan:

Probably his most “famous” bit:

Tom and I are always like Hoooottttt Pockeetts.

I think this is fitting for Easter:

Okay and just become I’m on a comic kick (as usual). We watched this today in my Disability class, and I think he’s pretty awesome. Josh Blue from Last Comic Standing.

Warning Language! Also Joe Rogan is too funny:

Weekend

I had the best weekend since Tom managed to get both Saturday and Sunday off.  Usually he gets two days off during the week when I have classes and can’t stay over his house.  So on the weekends, we have to get up early for him to get to work.  We spent both Saturday and Sunday morning laying in bed watching the first season of Rome.  We watched a few episodes when it first aired, but kind of forget about.  Thanks to Netflix though, we got the first season and got to watch it in its entirety.  That show is really good.  Now all we need to do is get the second season and watch it.  I wish I knew a bit more about Roman history to see how much of the show is accurate and how much is exaggerated.

Saturday evening we drove up to Cleveland (about an hour away) to see Beowulf in 3D.  I’m really glad we did that instead of just seeing the normal version of it, because it was amazing in 3D.  It’s cool because it’s all animated, but the people actually look like themselves to a degree.  Especially Angelina Jolie’s character (Grendal’s mom).  Tom thought there would be a lot more action and fight scenes then there were, but I didn’t get that feeling when I was watching it.

Tonight we went to Target to browse around and when we were looking at video games there was this woman and a salesperson talking.  The woman looked a little bit upset, and the guy was telling her that they didn’t have anymore Brain Age games after he checked his handheld scanner thing.  Even though just 2 minutes earlier we saw them in a different part of the store.  So we told the lady we just saw them and showed her where they were.  She was super nice and seemed really thankful that we found it.  Then there was another woman looking for the new Pirates movie in Blu-Ray format and they told her they didn’t think they released it in that.  Low and behold as we were walking around, we found it in Blu-Ray.  The woman was already gone or we would’ve helped her too.

The lady that we helped with the video game came up to us when we were checking out and asked us our names.  She said that she told the manager we were helping her and how nice we were.  She said god bless us and happy holidays before walking away.  Little things like that in life, seeing how happy she was over something so simple, restore a little bit of my lost faith in our human race.

Halloween

Tom and I went and saw Halloween last night, it was pretty good.  But I’ve never seen any of the other ones to compare it too.

Sometimes people really, really, really bother me.  We were sitting next to this woman and she brought her two kids, they looked about 15 and 12.  The movie starts and there’s several swear words and a little bit of gore and this woman starts bitching about it saying she can’t believe they have to use words like that and show violence.  Basically throughout the whole movie she was making little comments.  You know it’s rated R, so what do you think goes on in it for them to make it that rating?  People like that just drive me crazy.
