This past week was actually pretty good. First, I passed my Vertebrae Biology test with a decent score, it’s not as high as I would have liked, but I’m not complaining. I also am doing really well in my Stats class and somehow have the 2nd highest grade in my class. I’m really excited about that because I’ve been told from several people that they actually failed statistics in college. In other, non-school related news, I got tickets to see Louis C.K. again in April, which should be really fun, especially since we’re in the second row! Our seats last time we went to see him were in the first row, but to the left hand side, this time they’re more towards the center of the stage.
My Valentine’s day also went really well. Tom got me a book I’ve been wanting but said he wouldn’t buy for me because it’s silly (Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen’s book), money to buy MAC makeup, and he wrote a poem for me. All of his poetry is really, really amazing, but it all has a dark theme, which works for him but I’ve always wanted to read something that was happy and loving. Basically, I’ve been waiting for 6 years or so for a poem about our relationship that was positive, and I finally got it. I got something for him that I never do either, which is baking cupcakes. Not just any cupcakes, but everything-from-scratch red velvet with cream cheese frosting cupcakes, and they were actually good!
My new thing is looking at celebrity twitters. Right now I’m only following Ashton Kutcher’s and Elijah Wood’s. If anyone wants to add me on twitter, here is my profile. Also, what are your favorite twitter-ers?
I feel incredibly burned out, and it’s only the 4th week of classes. I don’t know what it is, I actually am enjoying the classes I’m taking this semester compared to others, but something just feels…off. Also, I’m going to attempt to get another internship this summer, I figure that since I don’t want to go to Grad school, I need all the experience I can get while I’m in school.
I took my one cat, Zoe Jane, to the vet today because she’s been having some problems with having bowel movements, and then today she threw up some yellow stuff, which I’m assuming was bile. The vet basically said nothing was wrong with her, and to just watch her. He then asked one of the vet assistants to shave some of the clumps of fur she had off of her since we couldn’t get it with a comb. When they were doing that, they saw that she had tapeworms, and called the vet back in. I seriously feel horrible right now, even though he said that they were pretty common (they come from fleas) and that they aren’t really dangerous to the animal. I hate it when there’s something wrong with my animals, just because I feel like I’m a bad pet owner, even though I know that can happen to anyone.
The week from hell is almost over! After Monday I’ll be free for probably a whole two days before I have a pile of work to do again. This past Tuesday I had a vertebrae biology lab practical, then a statistics project due Wednesday, a statistics test Thursday, and a vertebrae biology test Friday. This coming Monday I have my genetics test, which I am 100% not prepared for. The good news? We get to use 3 sheets of paper on it to help us, so I’m really not stressing out too much about it.
I think that Tom and I are going to see Taken tonight. That is if we aren’t too lazy and just sit around and watch TV / watch him play PS3.
One of the things in the news lately that has caught my eye (other than the huge snake fossil found) has been the big deal over a picture taken of Michael Phelps smoking pot out of a bong. At first, it seemed that it wasn’t too big of a deal, most of his sponsors basically were like whatever, it’s his personal life. Now though, he’s getting dropped by Kellogg’s as well as suspended for 3 months from any money from USA Swimming as well as not being able to swim in any competitions. Now, I’m not a pot smoker by any means, but I just don’t agree with this. I mean, yes, he did something that was wrong, but I just think people are making way too big of a deal out of this. Why aren’t they doing anything to the other people at the party who were smoking? They test for drugs during competitions, so if he’s not smoking then, who’s business is it what he does in his free time? The other argument that I’ve seen, is that he’s supposed to be a role model to children. I’m sorry, but I’m almost 100% sure that’s what the PARENTS job is, not some random sports star to raise their child and teach them right from wrong.
