The biggest news in my life right now, is I’m getting a new car!  My current car (a 2001 Oldsmobile) gets awful gas mileage.  I’m talking like 20 miles to the gallon, with me driving between 200 - 300 miles a week, that just isn’t working.  Especially with gas prices rising.  Oh and did I mention the other day, my car decided, while going down a hill for the ABS and traction to turn off?  Causing me to lose slight control of my car, and almost going off the road.  Luckily I had a hold of it, and it’s fine now for just driving around town.  I still am scared to drive it up to school.  Plus my brother should start driving soon, so then he could just have my old car.

I’m going to be leasing a 2008 Honda Civic.  I seriously felt like I was going to have a panic attack today committing to something like that.  Not to mention just a week ago I had to apply for another private student loan to get me through this school year / some of next, which is more than some people make in a year.  Needless to say, it worries me being in so much debt and only 21 years old.  But hey, what else can I do?

Now all I need is a name for this car.  My current car’s name is Veruca.  Which is from Willy Wonka and the Charlie Factory.  Since Veruca is kind of a bitch, but I still love her.  Which is kind of how my car is to me.  Actually, I get really sad thinking about not driving it anymore.  It was my first car, and I guess you could say we’ve been through a lot together.  Oh if cars could talk…  I finished my last 2 years of highschool with her, went to three different colleges.  Shut up, I get emotional easily :)

WOW.  I really haven’t updated in a while.  I’m lazy and in the middle of watching America’s Next Top Model, but got the urge to update so this will just be a list of sorts about what has been going on in my life lately.

1.  First, and the most important.  I PASSED CHEMISTRY.  I honestly didn’t think I was going to make it.  I failed all of my tests, except the final (imagine that) but managed to do awesome in my lab.  Not to mention the professor grades on a crazy curve, so I made it.

2.  Tom and I are going on a great little vacation in June for both of our birthdays (his in June, mine in August).  We’re going to a national park a few hours away from where we live and are staying in a cabin for five days.  It’s going to be awesome.

3.  I’ve lost 19.4 pounds so far on Weight Watchers, and I feel great.

4.  Everclear (my favorite band) has a new CD coming out, it’s all covers and I’m psyched about it.

I managed to get a paid internship / research position this summer at my college.  I’ll be working with waterfowl and doing research in a biochemistry lab.  I’m really excited, and surprised that I have this opportunity.

Finals are next week, so I’ve been completely swamped.  Not much has been going on in my life other than college.  I scheduled for next year and in the fall I’m taking:  Molecular and Cellular Biology, Organic Chemistry (hopefully if I pass the Chemistry class I’m in now), Environmental Philosophy, and Introduction to Environmental Grant Writing.

The way Hiram is set up, you have 12 weeks of three or four classes, finals in those classes, then a week break and then 3 weeks of just one class.  The idea of that is that your three week class can be more intense and you don’t get overwhelmed with your 12 week classes. For my three week class starting in another two weeks, I’m going to be taking an Animal Behavior Class dealing with rats, which should be interesting.  When I scheduled for NEXT year’s three week, I originally signed up for this Death and Dying religion class.  I signed up for it because I’ll eventually need to take a religion class, and it seemed easy.  Well, the other choice I had was this Introduction to Grant Writing.  I didn’t want to take it because it seemed like A LOT of work, but I realized today that something like that can really help me so I dropped the religion class and signed up for the a ton of work for three week class.
